Kris was born in Kentucky. She moved many times with her family
over the years. When her parents made a stop in Connecticut she
met her husband. After many moves with him she came back to the
Mid-West for his career. Through all of her travels she has one
constant that can be enjoyed anywhere- her art! She has an art
degree from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, NY and from
Raymond Walters branch of the University of Cincinnati in
Cincinnati, OH.
Kris is a multi-media artist. Her interests include drawing, painting,
and her most recent and most exciting venture - collage. In her
collage she uses paper and other organic and synthetic materials
to create both realistic and abstract art. Working in this method of
collage is very similar to painting. Your palette consists of opaque
and transparent papers so you can layer creating new colors and
textures and also cover areas. Once the paper is wet it can be
manipulated like paint. A story can be told and a mood set in the
way the material is applied.
Combining her love of music and art; Kris has also started painting
guitars. She calls them 'Pop Art Guitars'. They are painted with
vibrant enamel colors in a pop art style. They can be played or just
displayed.
